Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 9, 2026
Sheldon World ("Sheldon," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Local-First Architecture
Sheldon is built with a local-first architecture. This means your travel data — including trips, boarding passes, and itinerary details — is stored primarily on your device using a local database. We do not maintain a central server database of your personal travel information.
2. Information We Collect
Email Access: If you choose to connect your Gmail or Outlook account, Sheldon accesses your email solely to identify and parse travel-related messages (flight confirmations, hotel bookings, car rentals). We do not read, store, or transmit any non-travel-related emails.
Account Information: We may collect your email address for account authentication purposes only.
Usage Data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics to improve the app experience. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To detect and parse travel confirmations from your connected email accounts
- To create and organize trip itineraries on your device
- To generate and display boarding pass information
- To populate your world travel map
- To improve and maintain the app
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties. Your travel data remains on your device. We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot identify individual users.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. Email connections use industry-standard OAuth 2.0 authentication — we never see or store your email password. All network communications use HTTPS encryption.
6. Third-Party Services
Sheldon integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google (Gmail): For email-based trip detection. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft (Outlook): For email-based trip detection. Subject to Microsoft's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: For subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
7. Your Rights
You can disconnect your email accounts at any time from the app settings. Since your data is stored locally on your device, deleting the app removes your data. You may request information about any data we hold by contacting us.
8. Children's Privacy
Sheldon is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
10. Contact Us
